Garnet - January

Emerald - May

The official gemstone for the 20th and 35th wedding anniversary, the emerald is one of the few gems (Beryl) that is graded by eye without the aid of magnification. The name comes from the Greek word smaragdus… emerald.

 

Alexandrite - June

Alexandrite has the amazing capacity to alter colors (From Green to Purple) under different lighting conditions. It was discovered only recently, in Russia in 1831. Pearls are found in a variety of colors including black, grey, bright white, and white with undertones of pink or gold. Early Greeks gave pearls to new brides as they were thought to prevent them from crying. They were also thought to vibrate, emitting healing powers when they did so.
